Friends Is Live on Startale App: Private Payments Powered by Privacy Boost

Today we're launching Friends, a Mini App on Startale App that lets you send money onchain without putting your payment history on display.
Friends is powered by Privacy Boost, privacy infrastructure that makes shielded transfers available to every user on Soneium.
Payments were never meant to be public
Sending money onchain is fast and cheap, but there's a catch: everything is visible. Every time you pay someone back, anyone can see who you paid, how much, and how often. That's not how money should work between friends.
How Friends works
Build your address book. Add the people you pay most, so sending money feels like messaging, not managing wallet addresses.
Send privately in seconds. Split the dinner bill, settle a group trip, pay back a coffee. Transfers are instant and shielded from public view.
Keep your history yours. Transaction details are protected onchain. No one browsing the block explorer can piece together your spending, your balances, or your relationships.
Under the hood, Privacy Boost shields each transfer so the details never appear in public view, while everything remains fully onchain and verifiable.
Getting started
- Open Startale App and find Friends in Mini Apps
- Transfer assets to your smart wallet
- Add a friend and make your first private transfer
It takes minutes, and once you've sent your first private transfer, public payments will feel strange in comparison.
One more thing
Friends is joining Startale App's Summer Fiesta 🏄 We can't share details yet, but if you're already using Friends when the news drops next week, you'll be glad you started early.

How Privacy Boost Works #01: ZK proofs keep the money safe. TEEs make it fast.
Most onchain privacy projects pick a side: trustless-but-slow ZK, or fast-but-fragile trusted hardware. Privacy Boost splits the guarantees by how badly their failure hurts, so a hardware break can never reach your funds.

Introducing the Privacy Boost App
Privacy Boost has been enterprise-only until now. Starting today, anyone can manage crypto privately — pay friends, hold positions, and unlink wallets — while staying fully self-custodial.
