Privacy Boost Powers Cloaked on Base

We are excited to announce a partnership with Cloaked, the self-custodial wallet built for people who don't want their financial life broadcast onchain. Cloaked is bringing private balances and private transfers to Base, and Privacy Boost is the privacy infrastructure powering them.

What Cloaked Does

Cloaked aims to be the wallet people go to for the best privacy technology available, without asking them to understand how any of it works.

Most wallets give you one public address, and that address slowly becomes a record of everything you do: balances, counterparties, the apps you use, and the transactions connecting them.

Cloaked was built to break that pattern without giving up self-custody. Every receive lands at a fresh address you control, and Cloaked rolls those addresses up into a single balance view. When you want to spend without leaving a trail, you move funds into a private balance and send from there.

How Privacy Boost Fits In

Cloaked's approach mirrors our own. Both teams believe users deserve the best privacy technology available without giving up self-custody. Privacy is not only a user's right, but a prerequisite for institutions to move onchain. Cloaked is bringing that standard to the wallet. Privacy Boost is bringing it to the infrastructure underneath.

Privacy Boost will power the private balance on Base. When a Cloaked user on Base converts funds to private and sends them, the transfer runs through Privacy Boost. Amounts and counterparties stay off the public ledger, the user keeps full control of their funds, and there is no waiting period between converting and spending.

Privacy Boost is the privacy infrastructure for regulated finance onchain. It keeps transaction details hidden from the public while remaining visible to the operator and, where required, to regulators through Audit View. This is the same model traditional finance has always run on. Cloaked brings that model directly to everyday users on Base.

What's Next

The integration is underway and will be completed in the coming weeks. Once live, Cloaked users on Base will see Privacy Boost as a route when converting funds to their private balance, with no extra setup required. We will share more details, including how to get started, as we approach launch.

Privacy should be the default for onchain payments, not a workaround. We are glad to be building toward that with Cloaked.
