Privacy Boost is Now Live on Base

Today we're excited to launch Privacy Boost on Base.
Starting now, anyone on Base can manage their assets end-to-end privately with Privacy Boost. Shield a balance, privately swap and earn, and send and receive without exposing the counterparty or the amount. Fully self-custodial, on the wallet setup you already use, whether that's an EOA, an MPC wallet, or a multisig.
Try it at app.privacyboost.io, or add it to your own product with the SDK at @sunnyside-io/privacy-boost.
Why Base Needs Privacy Boost
Base has become a home for onchain finance. The money arriving now is increasingly regulated money: positions, payroll, treasuries. Every dollar of it is visible to the rest of the world, so these folks need privacy.
Until now, privacy onchain has come at the cost of accountability. Once funds enter a shielded pool, no one can trace them, even regulators or app developers. For regulated money, that's a non-starter. The people on Base who need privacy most are the ones who can't use it.
Privacy Boost fixes this. It pairs zero-knowledge proofs with trusted hardware to keep your activity private from the public while staying provable to the people who need to see it. That's Audit View: hand a regulator or auditor a view into your history, and nobody else sees a thing.
And it's fully composable with the rails you already use:
- Wallets. Use Privacy Boost with the wallet infrastructure you have today. We support regular wallets, MPC wallets, and Safe multisig.
- Earn. Deposit into lendings like Morpho and Aave directly from your private balance, without telling the world you hold the position.
- Swap. Swap tokens across DEXs through 1inch, without revealing that you're the one swapping.
So you can run the whole thing on Base without changing a single rail. End to end, private, on your existing setup.
What's Live Today
Shield assets. Move any asset on Base into a private balance.
Private transfers. Send between private balances without revealing sender, receiver, or amount onchain.
Portal addresses. Give anyone a normal Base address. When they pay it, the funds land in your private balance. The payer doesn't need to know Privacy Boost exists or change anything about how they send. Just like an exchange deposit address, you can generate as many as you want.
Wallet infrastructure composability. Privacy Boost sits underneath the wallet you already use, including MPC and Safe. No separate key, and your signing policy stays exactly what it is.
DeFi from a private balance. Deposit into Morpho and Aave and swap on 1inch, all from your private balance, without revealing to the world who is behind the transaction.

What's Next
Bringing the next billion people onchain means bringing their money onchain, and money cannot move without privacy. That's what we're here to solve on Base. Up next is a deep dive on end-to-end private treasury management: running payroll, vendor payments, and DeFi positions on Base from your existing multisig without broadcasting your balance sheet.
Until then, go try it at app.privacyboost.io. And if you're building on Base, please reach out. We'd love to talk.

[How Privacy Boost Works #2]: Forced Withdrawal: Your Assets Stay Yours
If there is no path to recovering your assets without the operator, the system is a custodial service under a different name. Forced withdrawal is the escape hatch that lets Privacy Boost users exit with nothing but their own keys and the data already onchain.
